DSADM permissions

Please suggest if we need to provide root privileges to dsadm user during DS installation (8.0.1)
OS: Linux 64 Bit

I don't believe so, I only remember that as needed for Compaq Tru64. Regardless, the installation instructions should note that if it was step was necessary, no mention = not needed.

If you've read the install instructions...

Step 1 says explicitly "Log on to the system as a root user."

Mike, installation is done with root user.

My question is:
Do we need to give root previleges to DSADM user?

Not having those instructions, no I cannot. However, your official support provider certainly can.

No, the installation instructions never say that.

What problem are you having with the dsadm user?

No, you don't neet to give root privilege to dsadm. Since your installation is done by root, your DS is in the impersonation mode with auto start enabled.
