Datastage 7.5.1.A compatibility with DB2 v9.1

Post by rupankarganguli »

Please could someone help me out to ascertain if Ascential (now IBM) Datastage 7.5.1.A release is compatible with DB2 v9.1.

If this is not possible is there a component/plug in available which could be installed? If yes, please let me know the procedure.

Hi,

This is possible though we have moved to Datastage 8.0.1.
But if you are handling XML with Datastage 7.5.1 o DB2 9x then you might face problems since the XML handling in DB2 9.1 is significantly different from earlier versions.

Thanks,
Rup

Best to check with your official support provider. The "official" answer is no as the plug-in supports versions 7 & 8 but that's not to say it won't work with 9. Have you tried it? Had any issues?

We have tried it. It worked fine for us in the past, but jobs were simple and we used only common data types - number & varchar.
