Copy column and derivation in Transformer stage to document

Post by shah.tejasvi.p »

We are documenting details regarding our datastage jobs.Sometimes we need to copy columns and their derivatons in the transformer stage to a word document or excel sheet.
If a table has 50-100 columns,it is difficult to copy these columns and their derivations one by one.Is there a way that we can copy all the columns and their derivations of a table in the transformer stage to a word document or excel sheet at once.

This will help us save a lot of time.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

In DS Designer under the "File", there is an option called "Generate Reports", Using this you can get in HTML page. Inthat if any derivation is used in the transformer it will show as it is in the job. Simply passed column will go as such. Copy those derivations and paste in word or excel

Thanks for your quick reply. When I checked in DS designer there was no Generate reports option under Files.Could it have something to do with the DS version we are using. We are currently working on version 7.1.
Is there any such option present in DS manager or DS director?

There should be a button on the toolbar that looks like the Internet Explorer icon - do you have that in your version?

No - it was introduced in 7.5. In 7.1 you can generate the bitmap and the XML report from the command line, but not from the GUI.

There is a batch file which generate reports all the jobs in a project on my tips page. Save you some time by downloading it.
