unable to open desinger

i am unable to open the designer, when i select the proj and click OK, the desinger window appears and disappears.

PLease help me in this issue.

Welcome aboard.

What operating system?
Can you open the other client tools?
How far do you get with Designer? Is it the splash screen that disappears, the login dialog, what?
Can you open Designer from the Tools menu of one of the other clients?

it is windows OS. the login dialog comes and after that the designer opens for few seconds and closes.i am able to open other client tools.
i have reinstalled the client and also restarted the server but of no use.

Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Vista ?

Are you the only one at your site with this issue?

Can you open Designer from one of the other clients' Tools menu?

Are there any error events in the Windows Event Viewer?

You reinstalled the server as well?

Specifics, please. What exact version/flavor of Windows are you running? What exact version of DataStage? Are you installing both components, client and server, on the same machine?

As Ray asked, can you highlight a job in Director and from the Tools menu get it to open in Designer that way or does that fail as well?

hi,
datastage version 7.0.1 server edition
OS: MS windows server 2003.

i reinstalled only the client version only. the server is installed in the same machine.
i am not the only one, everyone are facing the same problem.
we are not able to open designer from other cilent tools either like from director.. also..

I have serious doubts that such an old version is supported on Server 2003. Check with your support provider. Maybe the best solution is to install version 7.5.2 instead.
