Connecting to DB2 on AS400 from DataStage

Hi,


I am trying to connect to DB2 on AS400 from DataStage. Does it need
any DB2 related installation on Datastage server? I am adding database entry in odbcconfig.ini and uvodbconfig.ini. What else is required?

Kamal,

I use client "Client Access ODBC driver" from IBM and it works fine. Make sure whether you need to check translation box for character set e.g: "Translate CCSID 65535" if you are using Client Access driver.

From the DB2 API stage?!!

It's my understanding that you need DB2 Connect to be installed on the DataStage server machine.

Im trying to establish a connection between IBM Datastage & DB2/AS400
Im able to make the connection if Datastage is hosted in Windows using I-Series Access Client.
However if Datastage on Linux it does not work, Someone told me if Datastage on Linux i will require DB2Connect. Is that Correct ??
Is there are workaround to use I-Series access for Linux ??
Or is there any other tool which can help to establish the connection ?
If No, why DB2connect is better ?

DB2Connect is THE client software for DB2 cross-platform access.

I have a copy of db2connect now, can anyone tell me what components or how to install db2connect on linux and then how to establish the connection using db2connect from Datastage to DB2/AS400
