IADB IADBSPACE tablespace size

Post by tcheslav »

Hi.

I have a problem with IA Database which is on DB2.
I use default settings when creating IADB during installation (I used scripts which are inside installer)
Now we have encoutered a problem with IADBSPACE tablespace which is main tablespace for IADB.
According to IBM documentation maximum size of DMS tablespace is 16,777,216 pages (my page size is set to 32KB). Now we reached it's maxmum size:

Tablespace ID = 3
Name = IADBSPACE
Type = Database managed space
Contents = All permanent data. Regular table space.
State = 0x0000
Detailed explanation:
Normal
Total pages = 16777216
Useable pages = 16777200
Used pages = 16665632
Free pages = 111568
High water mark (pages) = 16777056
Page size (bytes) = 32768
Extent size (pages) = 16
Prefetch size (pages) = 16
Number of containers = 1

Tablespace ID = 4
Name = TEMPIADBSPACE
Type = System managed space
Contents = System Temporary data
State = 0x0000
Detailed explanation:
Normal
Total pages = 1
Useable pages = 1
Used pages = 1
Free pages = Not applicable
High water mark (pages) = Not applicable
Page size (bytes) = 32768
Extent size (pages) = 16
Prefetch size (pages) = 16
Number of containers = 1

The question is:
What can I do with that now?

Regards

The DB2 install that IA does by default I believe leaves the tablespaces / containers size as small and can be converted to large to enable the IADB to grow further. Apologies that I can not be more technical in the solution, but that is what our DB2 DBA verbally told me was the problem when he corrected the space issue I was having.

I agree with Brett. That's the way to deal with IADBSPACE tablespace problem, if it's InfoSphere Inofrmation server default installation.
