Hi All,
I have encountered the problem as following statement that I raised to IBM support. I will update you once IBM gets back to me. Please feel free to comment on it if you have good hand in it, thanks:
>>>>>
Import -> Load Data MetaData -> ODBC connection of this product:
We installed MessageSwitch(MS) and Analysis Server(AS)
in AIX 5.3, and Client in Windows XP. Our PS Admin
finds it very confusing when they try to Import a new
database into the repository.Based on instruction in
UserMannual, we installed AS in Admmin's PC for him to
import the DataBase Metadata or CFD. Here comes the problem:
For ODBC DataBase on Files, Admin needs to define a
ODBC System DSN in his PC pointing to the PATH that
only takes Local Drive letter in Windows ODBC manager.
If the Server is on Windows, I understood both Client
and Server can map the same Drive letter to point to
the same location in the network, so that the same
Analysis Source can be referred during Ananlysis
Processes. We test it in Windows and it works, when
Admin finished Import from his PC, a new SYSTEM DSN
will be created in AS Windows Server.
But how about server in Unix?
Will this process Add a new entry into ODBC.INI and
resolve the Network IP Address in it??

Sorry everyone fro viewing my thread.
The actual problem mentioned in this thread is from Import->Prepare ODBC Text Definition, not the Load database Meta Data that can take the DSN defined in Analysis Server!

Appreciated if you can advise, thanks again!
