Datastage stopped working...possibly because of new anti-vir

Hi All,
I haven't used datastage from my laptop for a while as I have only been
using it as a client. I have also just put mcafee security center
(firewall etc) onto my laptop.

When I try to start DS Telnet service I get the following error message
issued to the application log.

Anyone have any ideas?

DataStage error: Unable to bind socket to telnet port. WSA error: 10038.

Best Regards

Sounds to me like you will have to configure the McAfee firewall to permit
connections to port 23 (telnet). I'm not familiar with the McAfee product,
but you should be able to specify a trusted IP range as an alternative. If
you connect you notebook to lots of different networks (and end up with lots
of different IP addresses), I'm not sure how well that will work though.
