Access Denied

Post by admin »

I am getting a couple of messages when I try to log into a newly installed DataStage 4.1.1B instance on Solaris 7 (SunOS 5.7).

The messages are: "DSR.ADMIN: Failed to open file (other than access) - DEVELOPER"
and: "ACCESS DENIED: You do not have access to this project. Ensure that you are setup as a DataStage user for this project - see your Administrator.

I checked the $uvhome/.developer.adm file and while my username is not listed, my group is. Installation was done as "root". My user & group have read permission on the file. The project directory has 777 permissions.

I compared to a working instance of DataStage4.11, and the .developer.adm file there also only contains the group names.

What else could cause this error?

Hi Anthony,

try to check the permission of DS_LICENSE directory in $uvhome directory. Must be 777. Ive had similar problem and Ive solved in this way.

Best rgds.
