Licensing Issue Going from 4.0 to 4.2

Post by admin »

Hi, all

I have a client that has upgraded from Datastage 4.0 to 4.2.

Now that they have upgraded it does not allow more than 2 Developers to access the system at one time.

Is this right?

I have followed datastage since 3.6 and never before seen a Developer restriction enforced and believed that it was not used in Licence agreements.

Has anyone else encountered this and if so what was your solution.

Thanks in anticipation.

Jack.

We did not met the problem here as each of our developers have one licence... It should be the only solution...

Steph.

DataStage 4.2 now enforces the user-limit on client licenses. It took several tries, but now clients and universe TCL prompts are managed by the user-limit.

if you only have a 2 developer licence then 4.2 will only allow you to connect 2 at once (full licensing was not enforced before, it is now). check what your licence limit is, if its more than 2, then contact support since it should allow all your purchased users to access the server.

Jack,

There is a "Users" value you would need to enter when
you install the DataStage components in 4.x versions.
This value is probably 2 for your license.
