Developing Plugins

Has anyone developed a UNIX based active Plugin stage?

I have a document and some source code that Ascential provided me, but it didnt include any UNIX documentation. A working example would be greatly appreciated.

I have also asked our local reps for an example. I just finished the weekly status conference call with them. Dominic will look for an example.
