DataStage Batch Edits

Post by admin »

I am having some problems with DataStage Director; when I attempt to edit a Batch defined through the Director, I am not presented the text of the batch job in the Jobs window.

I am connecting to DataStage through a dial-up network connection.

The Version of DataStage is Server: Release 3.6.3r2
The Client is: Release 3.6.3r2.PA2
Running in Unverse 9.5
Unix is HP-UX 11.0

Here is what I am attempting:

From Director List of Jobs, I select a batch job (that I have previously defined). Selecting the Tools menu. Selecting the Batch menu. Selecting the Properties items.

When I wish to view the job text I get nothing but an empty text box. When I look at the dependencies list, there is a complete list of the items I previously added to the batch.

I have looked through the documentation to see if I have overlooked something in my options setup but can find nothing.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Steve,

I am wondering whether the problem you had as described in your previous email (below) were solved?

Hope to hear from you.
Thanks.

Never hear one word from the list.

Talked with some "support specialist" with the vending company -- he suggested I upgrade from Windows 98. Really helpful.

Our shop is also running release 3.6. Sounds like you somehow deleted your job control after you had everything set up. I created a batch of my own and then, after compiling it, deleted the job control. The dependencies remain once the job control is deleted, even though the details of the run arent there.
In this case, I would just delete the entire batch and recreate it from scratch with the job control setup. Have you tried that?

Thought that might be the case; however, when I look at the same batch job from a Windows NT Workstation connection everything is fine -- I can see the data, add jobs to the batch and otherwise perform various tasks on the batch.
