FTP on Solaris

Post by admin »

Hi,

I am trying to get the before telnet command working on the FTP stage at DS 4.0 on Solaris 2.6.

Has anyone got this working and if so what should the settings be for the telnet component?

I have set the telnet prompts expected to 2 the first being "login: " and the second being "Password: ", although I notice this got changed to
"password: " in the log.
The replies to both these prompts were job parameters.

I have set stage tracing to 1 and link tracing to 64 and have not been given any clues, but the command is not executing.

Phil,

Have you tried both telnet and ftp to your
Solaris server manually outside of datastage
system from a command prompt? By itself,
the FTP should work as Ive had no problems
with it.

I do have one general questions for anyone out
there. If this is an FTP stage what is this TELNET
requirement have to do with the FTP protocal
in DataStage? My understanding of the TCP/IP
suite of applications these two things are not quite
the same other than you can "telnet" to specific
well known ports and send commands to the receiveing
server it understands like SMTP, POP3, etc......
