We had that same problem in production when we first migrated (no response to run command, except as root). The problem for us turned out to be the permissions on a parent directory to ardents home directory.
In our case Ardents home was /export/apps/Ardent/uv,
but the permissions on /export/apps did not give read access to users other than root.
We actually changed permissions to 777, but I think read and execute access on all parent directories would have been sufficient.

Hi there,
Im running in a problem trying to execute job with DS 4.0 on IBM/AIX.
Since 2 days try to start manually or scheduling the job, nothing happen (ON PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT
(((( .
Ive checked the space on all the files system on server and everything is OK.
Does anybody run in such problem?
Any suggest is appreciated.
