Does this mean the NT version does not have a dsenv file ?

On Unix this file is used to set environment variables for Datastage, for example:

DS_MMAPPATH=/usr/Ardent/tmp; export DS_MMAPPATH

.... this is the directory where sort files are created.
There must be a place where I can set up my environment.

You have just installed the NT version of Datastage. Then Job Done. There is not a lot left to do short of Installing Connectivity & ODBC to your data sources.

Dirk,

There is a file .uvconfig (which also exists in the Unix Version) that has many parameters in it. It exists in a path like: C:ArdentDataStageServerEngine

There is a Entry in this file UVTEMP (which defaults to C:TEMP) which I believe to be similar to DS_MMAPPATH.

The last time I altered an entry in this file on NT was a couple of years ago. (From Memory this same entry ie shift temp processing off the system
disk) so if someone else can validate.

There may be a shorter way to do this but I have just tested the following procedure and it appears to work:
- down the UV services
- copy C:ArdentDataStageServerEngineuvconfig to C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebinuvconfig
- rename C:ArdentDataStageServerEngineuvconfig to C:ArdentDataStageServerEngineuvconfig.bak
- rename C:ArdentDataStageServerEngine.uvconfig to C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebak.uvconfig
- Make the changes to C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebinuvconfig
- from the C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebin directory run uvregen (this updates the .uvconfig file)
- copy C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebinuvconfig to C:ArdentDataStageServerEngineuvconfig
- copy C:ArdentDataStageServerEnginebin.uvconfig to C:ArdentDataStageServerEngine.uvconfig
- up the UV services

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jack
