uvdlockd dies

We are running DataStage v4.11 on Solaris 7, and about every 2 weeks or so, the uvdlockd process dies. No event is logged in uvdlockd.log when it dies. Ive been monitoring the process for about 6 weeks, and its died 3 times during that time. Its happening at different times of the day, and the administrators cant tie it to any particular event.

We have been able to re-start the process with a little ksh script:
cd /export/apps/Ardent/uv
. ./dsenv
$uvhome/bin/uvdlockd -config

But I would like to prevent the process from dying at all.

Any ideas?

Do you really care if uvdlockd dies? All it does it
cleanup orphaned locks on jobs, as well as stranded
shared memory segments after catastophic job failures. Periodically recycling the DataStage services, using DS.TOOLS for lock and process maintenance, and ipcrm will do the same trick. You actually dont have to use uvdlockd if you dont want to have it running.
Call tech support, but they probably will tell you the
same thing.
