Brad - You can use the ODBC Stage and setup a DSN. That should do the trick.

Heres a quiz question. Weve been approached to read files from systems with data in Foxpro as well as dBase 4 format. Does DataStage have plug-ins available to do so?

If not, how have others read in this type of data?

Thanks!

Setup an ODBC connection to each data source and use ODBC to reference the data. Since Microsoft owns Foxpro it provides drivers for this format.

Yes, I read this type of data. You need to use ODBC. Get the latest version that you can find of the Microsoft Visual FoxPro ODBC driver. I know that at least version 6 exists, perhaps later. It is bundled as part of MDAC.

Im hoping your DataStage server runs on NT or Windows 2000. I dont know if there are ODBC drivers for this for Unix.

Good luck,

Its possible that there are available industry ODBC drivers for these, in
which case you could use the standard ODBC stage. Unix DS sites may have
a tough time finding drivers, but chances are increased in the NT DS world.
