Hi Nilesh,
There is no such thing as DataStage users. The DataStage users are
basically the users created by your Unix Admin. They would be part of a
user group assigned for DataStage access. I believe the file you are
talking about is developer.adm.
Ray, correct me if Im wrong!

Thanks

Pavan

There are two files, and on UNIX they are hidden files, called .operator.adm and .developer.adm, which store the UNIX group names to which the DataStage roles "operator" and "developer" respectively have been allocated using the Administrator client. These two files are owned by the user ID who installed DataStage server, and permissions are -rw-r--r--.

DataStage server is not licensed by number of users; it is licensed by number of projects. So "DataStage users" are ordinary UNIX users, who connect via DataStage clients or who use server-side facilities such as dsjob or DSD.TOOLS.

One caveat is that, if a user needs to perform actions on UniVerse tables, then that user must have been granted CONNECT privilege to the UniVerse RDBMS, and appropriate privileges to the tables. This must be done by a user who has DBA privilege for UniVerse, typically the user ID who installed DataStage server.

If you are wanting to see the processes involved in servicing DataStage jobs, stages or clients, the appropriate tool to use is the DS.TOOLS menu on the UNIX machine, or the "Cleanup Resources" window under the Job menu in the Director client. The Monitor view provides process IDs for any active stages that are running.
