RTF file

Is there a way on how to process an RTF formatted file?

There is no built-in RTF file processor.The RTF 1.5 specs are here and you might be able to write some code that will parse such a file, but the easiest way is to use some program (i.e. Word for Windows) to read the file, then write a text file which can be read easily.

I don't use this forum much since I signed-up in 2004.

But, i'm really surprised for the change that happened in this forum. Before, it's easy to find the answer. Now... you have to pay just to find your answer deep in the charter member section.

So what's left on the FREE side of the forum? Just some chit-chat?

One of the things that's changed is that thread hijacking is frowned upon. Others have made the same point as you; One even went as far as creating what he hoped would be a competitive site.
For four years plus this site has been funded out of Dennis's pocket; increasing bandwidth (and therefore cost) has made it necessary to fund it somehow.
