Port used to connect client to server

Hi everybody.

I need to understand which ports are used by Datastage client component in communicating with the server.
We need to work remotly through a Citrix installation, so I need both server ports (I seem it is always port 31538 for every client product), but I seem that the client port can move in a big range. With netstat on the server, I looked at the connection and my clients used 1747, 1766, 1771, 1783, 2335, ...
Where can I read (and maybe limit) how big is this range of ports?

range of ports in windows 32 bit system is 1 to 65535
