hi
Can anyone suggest the optimum server cinfiguration required for running DataStage 7.5 on Windows. We are planning to run an approx of 1000 sequences/ server jobs which create about 250 hash files with an average of 5 columns in each file.
We plan to use Dyanic RDBMS stage to read and write data to a Oracle Database sitting on a unix box.

Thanks

A high degree of concurrent job execution requires multiple cpus. For Server, the memory usage is very light, so memory is not a premium requirement. Fast disks are a must, as mechanical devices are the achilles heel of computers. Consider a fast SCSI raid 0 with a lot of disks for striping. So in a nutshell, figure for each cpu about 1GB ram and fast SCSI disks. Ideally, more cpus means that concurrent execution will not bottleneck task switching.

As for your budget, are we talking < 10K, 10K to 50K, or >50K? Xeons, Opterons, Pentiums and the other AMD chips have different hardware/rack options/configurations and pricing levels.
