how to convert a flat file into an XML file

i m working on data stage version 9, the problem is i think iam missing something in xml file?

Cool, can you tell us a bit more about Version 9
? (the current version is 7.5)
What is your issue exactly, you normally can go from a sequential file to an XML stage, even at versions < 9.

As stated could you pls tell about Data Stage version 9??
About working on XML Stage:
If you need to load the Flat file data into the XML format, you need to have the meta data of the XML file u want to create i.e., the XSD i.e XML Schema file definition using which you could create the XML files.
Seq. file stage ---->Transformer -------> XML Output Stage
If you have the XSD then you could generate the same. In order to get the XSD you could use XML Meta Data importer which would give the XSD of the file.
