odbc table definition import problem

Post by cdrk823 »

Hi everyone,

I've tried to load table names through odbc and can't seem to pull any. I've asked my office mate here to do the same, but everything seems to work fine in his workstation.

What could have caused this error on my side? I don't remember changing anything on my setup (except maybe for the serial number).

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Please describe the exact process you went thru.
At what point did this fail for you and what error did you get?
Were you 2 using the same user/password for this?

it seems this error is happening to my client only.

i've tried logging in as different users (both in datastage and from within the odbc import window) and have the same results. i've tried reverting my serial number back to what it was and it still returns the same thing.

i don't know when this has started, it has been a while since i last imported a table definition through odbc, and it's weird that this problem is isolated to my workstation only.

thanks for the help!

oh sorry about that..

i'm trying to import table definitions using odbc.

the connection's okay and everything, but when i try to filter out specific table names, or basically trying to pull up any table names from the database, i get nothing.

I've tried doing queries outside datastage and it seems to work fine.

I've tried logging into my office mate's client, and it worked for him. But when we tried it a second time around, his would pull up any names as well.

does it make any sense? or am i just confusing everyone?

if it's the latter, then i'm really sorry for that.

Hi,
This means that you:
1. have no privilages to see the tables you look for.
2. have asked for table/s that doesn't exist (even a typo will do it)\
3. filtered by owner name and put table name parts?

Do have a huge list that takes forever to get loaded to your client?????
Do you get a No match found message box poping up?
Is it possible the scheme that this odbc points to is now empty?

IHTH,
Roy R.

it does, thanks!

problem solved.. might be because it was case sensitive. i haven't confirmed yet, though.
