UnStable DataStage Server 7.5

Hi,

We migrated from DataStage Version 5.2 to Version 7.5. Transition was smooth and we had no issues for first 3 weeks. After that we have explored Restartability option and have made changes to jobs to take advantage of it.. We had a sequence which calls other server jobs and sends a email notification at the end. We checked Restartability option in Sequence and executed the jobs.

The problem we are facing is that the server has become pretty unstable. Sometimes a server job is not sending its status of completion back to the calling sequence. (Server job is showing status as finished where as Sequence is waiting for the status of the job) Also email notification is not being sent. (When it encounters the email notifcation activity, the sequence is just getting stuck and is doing nothing)

If any one has encountered these problems and solved them pls reply.

Did you test them as a standalone piece of work?

Addressing only the Notification Activity question, do you have an SMTP client installed on the DataStage server machine?
