Hi,
One of our jobs failed in Production environment with the following message.

The same job ran successfully several times earlier.

Can you throw some idea what is the cause for this error?

What Database is it? Can you view the data from the stage?
I don't have a lot of details but based on the info it looks like someone from the database has changed the privileges for the user.
Chk with the DBA of the respective database.

The job is loading into SQL Server Database.
The User has all the permissions .

Where is the data coming from? Which database...did you chk if the user has privileges to select data from it!!!

The data is coming from a flatfile which is located on the same server as DataStage, but in a seperate folder.

The job reads from a flat file and splits out 5 different files and does some Aggregation on those files and load into SQL server database.

The same job ran fine now, when we re-ran the job.

2 other jobs which ran approximately at the same time last night got the same error message which i mentioned above.

Though they are running on entirely different Servers .

What does the "LD_ICES_IMPACT_T2_PERSON_AID_J..X_ClientSeparations " stage do? Perhaps you have a UNIX permissions issue on either hash or sequential files - could it have been created by another userid and your access settings aren't set up appropriately?

I reckon with "ArndW", the Seq/Hash file on the unix box might have been created/ftp by a user other than the user who's executing the job. Chk if the user who created this file set's Read permissions and make sure the user who execute's belongs to the group who creates the files and vica verca.

We are on Windows Server.

The file used in this job is being created by a job run prior to this job.

The user who ran the jobs has permissions to read & write.

We got the same situation last night.
3 of the jobs aborted at the same time with approximately same phantom error.

After some research , we came to know backup of the Server (on which DataStage was installed) was scheduled at that time.

Does the backup of the server,
effect any DataStage jobs already running?

DSR_GETJOB and DSD.Update are internal DataStage functions. Are you using a routine such as UtilityRunJob in the Transformer stage. Can you post the 10 lines either side of line 577 in the file RT_BP585/JOB.1620143548.DT.1363942389.TRANS1 and the 10 lines either side of line 298 in the file RT_BP585/JOB.1635624891.DT.1363942414.TRANS1 so that we can see what the Transformer stage is trying to accomplish?

What backup procedures are in place? Is access to the file system denied to users? That could certainly explain the error messages being seen, but only if you can show that these errors only occur when backups are being performed.

We happen to hit the same situation last night.

We are not using UtilityRunJob in the Transformer stage.

The back up is Veritas backup for Windows Servers.

All of the jobs failed timings ,in 3 different days during night,
matched with the Backup's timings.

So we kind of came to conclusion that backup's are causing DataStage jobs to fail during that times.

We just encountered tghe same issue and thanks to your post figured out quickly that it was the weekly backup job that caused the DataSatge failures. We're also using Windows Server and Veritas backup.
BTW - even after the backup was finished there were some files locked by rogue/interrupted uvsh.exe processes as well as some locked DataSatge system files. In the end we had to restart the DataStage server to get things back to normal and be able to successfully restart the load.
