A Metabroker is a specialized filter that can "translate" metadata from the form used by one tool into the form used by another tool.
For example, if you import table definitions into DataStage using the Metabroker for ERwin, then the ERwin definitions are converted into a form that can be stored in the DataStage Repository.
Metabrokers also exist so that the various tools can access the semantic form metadata stored in the MetaStage hub. This allows data to be obtained from any source (including Informatica Powercenter!) and stored in a format that any other Metabroker can acces.
