SMTPMail RCV: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

Post by mickboland »

I got this error running a job with a Notification Activity. I cannot find any more details about why 'SMTPMail RCV: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xxx@xx.com.au' happened?? Full trace below!

NB: I tried it from the cmd line but got the same error. My 'dssendmail_template.txt' uses:

<file>
From: %from%
To: %to%
Subject: %subject%
Server: %server%

%body%
</file>
%dsdir%\bin\dssmtpmail.exe -file %file%

************************************************
lkpSKeyLookupsMaster..JobControl (DSSendMail): Error when executing command: C:\Ascential\DataStage\Projects\ScratchArea\sendmail_lkpSKeyLookupsMaster.bat
*** Output from command was: ***

Please check any paths in the following command file are correct, and if necessary adjust the 'dssendmail_template.txt' file in the project directory.

Contents of command file:

Not really a DataStage problem, more of a configuration issue with your email server. Take a look at this Microsoft Knowledge Base article and see if it applies.

There seemed to be several other similar articles which a search there for your keywords should turn up.

The server you have DataStage installed....what is the name of the SMTP server this server points to? The SMTP appears not to be on the DataStage server so find out the name and point it to there....
