Sybase stored procedure

Post by palmeal »

Is it possible to exec a Sybase stored procedure and return the result set to a transformer stage. Can't try this at the moment as my data sources haven't been set up. I know that I can return a dataset by executing a sql string but can't find any documentation regarding sybase stored procedures.

If I add a stored procedure stage to a server job then the only database vendor that appears is Oracle.

Hi,
I did it once.
I simply used a user defined sql that run the SP and placed an apropriate table definition.
worked like a charm, I had no issues.

IHTH,

thanks Roy - I'll give it a go once I get my data sources set up. Trying to ascertain if this tool will do everything that I want - it's looking promising so far but many questions to come !!

DataStage 7.5.1 now GA includes the Stored Procedure Stage with support added for Sybase. DB2 was also added with this release.
