CFF Stage

Post by JezT »

I am running a job that produces a three column sequential file. One of the columns is a 10-digit Customer Number that has leading zeros if the number is not 10-digits long.

This file is transferred to another department for them to input on to their system but before it is transferred, the customer number needs to be converted into a COMP field. Do I use the CFF Stage to do this ?

I understand that a computated number is similar to a packed decimal but unfortunately, that is about as far as my Cobol knowledge goes !

Any help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See the reply to your other post on this topic. Give us a tiny bit more information and you'll most likely have an answer before nightfall :)
