Hi i'm new to MetaStage and this query building stuff is a nightmare! Is there anywhere that pre-designed queries are shared? One i really need is to show which jobs are dependent on which either by calling them from a schedule or by populating another jobs source tables

There's no doubt ... Query building is your worst nightmare. I am not aware of any shared library of Queries, but it's a great idea. I would suggest you start by finding a Query which is close to your needs, cloning it and making minor adjustments. Templates are more easily understood - right click and the Wizard will walk you thru the construction process.
You may be able to solve one of your stated issued with the Query: Job Designs using table definitions. Create a Template to launch this Query so that you can provide specific table names.
