DS Project Naming

Post by jtseltmann »

I just have a quick question that I cannot seem to find any information on. Are there any limitations (documented or found through trial and error) to the naming convention of DS projects? I know that Admin won't let you enter certain characters in a name (or spaces) but are there any other problems anyone has seen with using an "_" or "@" ??
Just curious...thanks for any quick responses!

I wouldn't get too crazy with your Project names. :)

Keep them simple and meaningful. I'd suggest avoiding any 'special' characters even if they are 'supported'. Haven't had any issues using dashes or underscores in names that I recall.

Hi,

We have used underscore for one of our project names. But as Craig suggested keep the project names to be simple and meaningful.

Hi,
The latest version of DataStage (7.5) allows you to use Underscore ("-") character in job names

I'm using underscore in the project name in DataStage v7.1.0.
