Hi Lory,

I am giving what I new, I welcome someone with more information on this.
1) In 7x, we have some new stages added like row merger and row splitter etc..
2) we can copy and paste the stages, jobs in the designer.
3) you can run job in the designer itself.
4) we can compile multiple jobs at a time.
5) This allows a Job Sequence to be re-started after a job in that sequence
has failed. On re-starting, only those jobs which failed on the previous
run will be run again, whilst previously successful jobs will be
skipped during the subsequent sequence execution.
6) repository tree and pallette customization

I guess there are many more that i haven't seen yet.. pls post if anybody know some more features.

Thanks
Thanks

Hi,
In DS 7x, you can pass parameter to DSGetJobInfo to find if you can run multiple instance of a given job

The release notes include a section on what's new in the current release. This should provide a fairly comprehensive summary.

If you actually have Version 7.x in your hands, then you've got the release notes. They are the 'readme' files on the various cdroms you received. There is typically one for the Client portion and one for the Server portion, and there is a "What's New in This Release" section in each. You'll also find information about upgrading, what's fixed in the release and what's not fixed.

You'll also find some interesting differences between the 7.0.x, the 7.1.x and the upcoming 7.5 releases.

If you are on an earlier release, simply order the upgrade.

If you got datastage CD then go to datastage client -> Docs -> ENU -> Books directory, open up the document 'dsupgde', there is a chapter 'New Feature in DataStage' will give you a list of new feature has been added in version 7x.
