Hi,
When we need to backup all of our DS projects do we also have to make a backup of the &PH&, &COM&, &SAVEDLISTS& directories? Are there any tools available for automatic project backups?
Essential what all files does an ideal backup need?
Appreciate your inputs.
Thank You,
Gregg

If you backup projects with server programs then it may be difficult to restore them. There are several problems with restoring these files especially if you move the directories around.
A better solution is to go to Ascential's ADN web site. There is a link to it from this web site. Download DataStageBackup.zip. It is a client based tool which you can schedule a full export. Exports are much better way to back up a project. You can import them to a different server even with a different OS.
There are several other files you should copy off your server like .odbc.ini, uvconfig, uvodbc.config and dsenv. Make a habit of backing these up before you change them.
