stored procedure

I am calling a stored procedure by using the ODBC stage by selecting stored procedure checkbox in the general tab. This ODBC stage is my souce. While running...I get an error message 'SQL statement has incorrect number of result columns'.
My procedure has one in parameter 'flag' which accepts char input. In the procedure, I am generating a sequence.
Can you explain me this process of working with procedures in datastage 5.2 with a simple example.
