CoSort success

CoSort's latest newsletter boasts its plugin for DS 7 is 2 to 10 times faster than the sort stage. Of course there is a big different between 2X and 10X.

What are the approximate gains that CoSort implementers have had in the past?

Also, how easily can it be implemented? It seems pretty simple...

And pretty expensive, but then again what are prices in a niche market like this :(

A consultant that we had in 2 years ago recommended Opttech sort (http://www.opttech.com/). He stated that he had used it successfully on several projects but I have not looked into using it myself since we have not had a need to augment DataStage. The tool is really cheap too.

Hi,
I think the real question is compared to the system sort mechanism (which is also much fsster then the DS sort stage).
if the system sort is enough for you why look else where?
also why spend money if what you already have is enough?
If you find the system sort not fast enough and other utilities to be faster and answer your needs then go for it :).

that is IMHO,

I don't think anyone would disagree with that. :D
