Hi Gurus.

We tried to install datastage 7 on Solaris 2.8

My Machine has used UltraSparc 2 CPU.

Anyway. When I tried to install datastage.

gave below message.

Hi,
just a thought, did you run out of space in your /temp?
you can configure the temp directory somewhere else.

Temp space could be an issue, but remember that the install script checks for the required space before it even starts. Unless there is something wrong with that check or another process filled it up after your install started, there may be something else going on. Still need to check and ensure there's plenty o'space there.

Did you find anything that might help in your install log? Look in "/tmp/dsinstall/logfiles" for the latest file there and then check inside it for error mesages. It may help shed some light on what's going on.

Hi
Based on my experience with installation of DS 6 on HP UX 11i
Check the following

dsadm user does not have full permission to the installables directory and all the files underneath it.

That reminds me... what user are you doing the install under? Version 7 is the first version to support "root-less" installs and only for clean installs at that. I'd still suggest using 'root' on a clean install as it seems to be the 'safest' choice for minimizing issues.
