Re: Will DS 7.0 install on Win 2000 Pro

Sorry I just checked the release notes and it does support 2000 Pro also.

I think the issue is with, Serivce Pack or something. I will get back if I need more assistance.

Yes. Service Pack 4 is required for both Server and Client on DataStage 7.0.1.

Read the Install and Upgrade Guide and follow it.

How to stop Universe services to install DS 7.0

Post by raju_chvr »

Universe Services are started. Stop them for install to continue.

I am trying to install DS 7.0 on Win 2K Pro after installing the .NET package and Client.

What is the service name that I have to stop ?

If they are UniVerse services they are:
  • UniVerse Resource Service
    UniVerse Telnet Service
UniVerse RPC Service (perhaps called UniRPC Service)
    UniVerse REXEC Service
If they are DataStage UniVerse services they may have the above names or they may have DataStage instead of UniVerse in the name, and there is no REXEC service.
There should be either a UniVerse or a DataStage applet in your control panel with a Stop All Services button - this is the easiest way to stop the services.
