I'm happy to learn the basics of a product in online courses and use instructor lead training for the advanced courses. In this case the Essentials course is a good one to sit through online. This takes you through most parts of the product. It does not leave you in a position to perform a complex DataStage project on your own, the Advanced DataStage and the DataStage Best Practices provides information on how to use DataStage for advanced job control and data warehousing that could take you a long time to work out on your own.

Do the Essentials now online and try and find time for an Advanced course later on.

You could always employ the services of an experienced consultant to provide a customized onsite course specific to your needs. I hear they're quite reasonable in price.

Hi,
I second Ken's advice.
that way you can get the material customized to your needs and concentrate in the things you need and get the real good stuf you want that is relevant to your issues.
