HI All,
Does anyone have experience migrating DS jobs from Version 5 to version 7?
What kind of rework is required?
What are the steps needed?
At the time of upgrading does this actually recompiles all the jobs?
Regards,
Manoj.

There are a few threads in the history covering the process for upgrading. It is quite easy. Just do a search in the history under the word UPGRADE. DataStage 7.0 comes with a multiple compile tool that will compile your jobs after you have upgraded.

Vincent - I'm curious why you mentioned the 'multiple compile tool' in conjunction with an upgrade? It's nice and all to have something like 'CompileAll' at times, but I'm unclear under what circumstances you would need to recompile all of your jobs after an upgrade? I've never needed to... even when the upgrade coincided with a server migration. ![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

Before an upgrade I export all my projects. After the upgrade if anything is wrong with any jobs I import those projects and perform a compile on all jobs.
