Optimistic job description

Post by vmcburney »

Just posted today on seek.com.au

We have an urgent requirement for an experienced ETL Developer with strong DataStage version 7.0 and Oracle experience.

That DataStage 7.0 requirement may be a difficult one to fill! Especially since no Australian company participated in the version 7.0 beta testing. While we are at it how about Windows 2004 experience essential and must be able to use a teleporter.

heh! I see stuff like this all the time and it cracks me up. Just shows that the customer's requirements may be "negotiable". Have a good weekend, Vincent!

In 1999 there was an ad seeking someone with five years' DataStage experience. Version 1.0 was 1997; we remember it fondly.

Ray

Version 1.0 barely worked and every version till 2.2 broke all your previous jobs. Upgrading was painful. Version 3 was the first solid product.

Irony, Kim. [;)]

IIRC the shortest-lived release was 2.0, followed three weeks later by 2.1 to fix the bits they'd broken.

Well...

The Enterprise went back in time to 1986...

So it's possible!

But of course, you'll need a talking mouse to get THAT version to work. ;-)
