FTP Stage - UNIX to NT Server

Post by butlerhd »

I am having a problem using the FTP stage on DS 6.0. I need to FTP a sequential file from the unix server to an NT server. The job aborts after the DataStage job executes a command (behind the scene) 'TYPE A'. This is a standard FTP command to set the transmission mode to ascii.
This is not a problem when going for unix to unix. It is also not a problem when manually executing an FTP command from the unix command line. The message in the Director Log is:

Error while trying to open connection for sending data to the FTP server, FTP command TYPE A failed

I have logged a ticked with Ascential, but have not heard an answer yet. Has anyone come across this?

I haven't seen this problem before but if your manual ftp from Unix is working why don't you execute the ftp with Unix script? You may find it gives you more control over the process than the ftp stage.
