Recovering a Lost Project

Post by chulett »

Decided for whatever reason (don't ask [:I]) to uninstall our 5.2r1 installation of DataStage before installing 6.0r3. I exported our projects, uninstalled, reinstalled and then cranked up the importation of the projects. All was going well until I realized that, in the chaos of my day, I forgot to export *one* project - our VERSION project! [:(]

I had the VERSION directory and all of its files restored from tape, but without a 5.2 server, is there any way for me to get the jobs 'exported' and into the current VERSION project? I'm thinking because it's only used by Version Control (no jobs run from it) it may be simpler to accomplish then with a 'regular' project? [crosses fingers] Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Couldn't you set up another computer:

Install v5.2
Install backup software

Import backup to v5.2 computer
Export project

Import project to v6.0 computer
Test

Cleanup v5.2 computer
