There are two main ways to accomplish this; to have the paragraph RUN a BASIC program that interrogates its command line/stack, or to use "inline prompting" with controls that obtain information from the command line.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? In particular, are you using the UniVerse database, or UniData, or are you trying to use stored procedures in DataStage?
