Provided no DataStage processes are running, backing up the system will provide a backup that includes everything in DataStage, since all is stored in operating system objects.
Many sites use Export (whole project) as a mechanism to back up the project in a form more quickly restored.
There is also a backup utility in DataStage called uvbackup, which needs to be properly configured.
