DataStage Certification Information

This question is best addressed to Ascential Software. I will volunteer to do so and respond when I have an answer.

Thus far no response from Ascential Education. If nothing in another week (they are busy people) I will cast the net slightly wider. (I'm not aware of any DataStage certification programme, however.)

I've done some searching and found there is an SAP certification available that includes an overview of ETL with DataStage. This seems like a good certification for SAP BW with DataStage.

Here's an interesting e-mail I received a about a year ago. I pursued it with Ascential but didn't get anywhere. Perhaps others will have better luck. I think it is defunct.
Subject: New Ascential Certification Professional Program

Ascential Certified Professional Program is now active and ready
for Partner enrollment.
This program is a performance-based validation of the partners'
Ascential product expertise. We encourage you to work with existing and
new partner relationships to generate interest in the ACP program. We
will notify partners of the ACP program in the upcoming Partner
newsletter and the information below will be posted under

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the program, the candidate must be either an
employee or an independent contractor working with a sponsoring company
who is a member of the Ascential Partner Program. The sponsoring
company is encouraged to participate in Ascential's Fast Start Program

engaged with Ascential on a consulting assignment. Fast Start is a
total, end-to-end program that includes a Business Assessment and
Iterations methodology, as well as training that will help you build and
deploy a complete Information Asset Management infrastructure.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS
Ascential offers a four-step process to becoming an Ascential
Certified Professional:

* Complete the online program application

* Attend applicable training class or demonstrate
equivalent knowledge via an in-depth interview and completion of an
exercise.
* Within 90-120 days of training, identify and participate
in a successful customer project while receiving assistance from
Ascential's consulting staff under the Mentoring Program.
* Demonstrate customer skills. To measure this, we will
ask the customer and the onsite Ascential consultant to complete an
assessment form. The assessment form will be posted to the KP upon
completion. I will send you an announcement when it is available.

Certification is contingent on both the overall quality of the
individual's performance and contributions throughout the mentoring
project. The Ascential Certified Professional status is valid for the
current major release of the product and is tied to product release at
the time of mentorship. The status can be maintained by attending
upgrade classes or webcasts on new versions of the product.

NOTE: Partners with certified members will have access to the
hotline technical support unit.

BENEFITS TO ASCENTIAL PARTNER COMPANY

* Enhanced partnership benefits from the Ascential
Software Partner Program including the use of the Certified Professional
Logo and recognition of certified staff will be made in the partner
online catalog.
* Increased customer satisfaction and confidence in
working with a certified professional.
* Demonstrates high commitment to Ascential to prospective
clients and to Ascential sales force.

PROGRAM FEE
There is a $500 per consultant fee for this certification
program. However, members of the Ascential System Integrator Program
and/or Ascential Embedded Application Program are entitled to two free
certification programs.

GRAND FATHERING - We need your input!
Please contact me if you feel an existing partner employee
should be qualified for certification without completing the steps
outlined under the Certification Process section described above.
