Hi,

When I'm trying to execute the 'Reporting Assistant', getting the following errors.

1. Run-time error '429'
ActiveX component can't create object

2. Run-time error '440'
Automation error

Is it necessary to have 'MS-Access' installed in our client work station?

Could you please tell me how to fix the same?

Thanks & Regards,
Srini

Hi,

Have you used the update button.?
You can create the repo tables on SQL server/Oracle ...
You can use MS Access as default
YES,It is needed to have MS Access on your machine.

Hi Srinivas,

Good on you.

I will try to generate the reports using ORACLE.

Thanks again.

For any database other than MS Access, there is a small amount of setting up to do. In the Documentation Tool folder (typically under AscentialDataStage) on your client machine you will find script files for creating the necessary tables, etc., in other databases - for example oracle.sql, mss.sql, universe.sql. You need to execute these in the appropriate database.
You also need to configure an ODBC connection from the DataStage machine to that database. The default installation for MSAccess uses DSN of "DSReporting"; you can use any name.
When exporting from DataStage Manager into the documentation tool's database, choose Options tab and specify your particular DSN.
