Problem with configuring ODBC for DB2

I'm getting the following error when configuring the ODBC connection for access to DB2 using "Wire Protocol" Drivers.
I've made necessary changes to .odbc.ini, uvodbc.config etc.,
Tested to make sure the shared library is installed right and
loads using utility ivtestlib. Restarted Datastage.
When trying to bind DB2 packages. I get the following error-

> bind17 <DSN>
Error: Invalid error number '4000'. Press any key.
please suggest
