Datastage 8.5 Enterprise Edition

Hi,
We have Datastage Server Edition 8.1.
We are planning to install Datastage Enterprise edition 8.5.
Can Datastage Server Edition 8.1 and Datastage Enterprise edition 8.5 co-exist on the same Unix Server?

Yes, it can. By using multi client manager you can use either of the one. But most chances to get corrupt!

Hi,
My question is not on the client for dS 8.1 and ds 8.5
My question is can we install the server for both ds8.1 (server edition) and ds 8.5 (parallel edition) on the same server.
I undersand using the mutil client we can switch the client from one version to another?

They can co-exist on the same server if they support an "itag" installtion. Before this, I would have said no but I seem to recall a recent post where it was noted that the 8.5 release does in fact now support an itag install.
Can anyone confirm or deny?

IBM consultant advised not to keep 8.1 with 8.5.

Now, that's a different question. They were asking if it was possible, not if it was advisable.
