DataStage Daemon Suddenly Stopped

Last Week, the DataStage Daemon suddenly stopped running on our production server (HP Unix). Our DataStage jobs started failing and on analysis we found that the engine is not running. Our Unix SA started the engine using 'ds.rc start' command and we were able to logon to DataStage. But we are not sure why the engine stopped? Are there any DataStage logs which we can check to find what exactly happened?
