How to handle £ pound symbol and (R) symbols

NLS enabled? Character set of the source? Character set of the target? What database?

Yeah I have enabled the NLS to UTF8 and i am using Oracle database

You will know how DataStage is reading the file and writing to a DB within the stage window's NLS page. However, you will get a better idea if you check the actual source and target (on the OS side, may be...)

In particular check the code page being used by the database(s). Compatible code sets (map names) must be used throughout.
